Would you take your LO to pedi?

DS has had off and on ear infections since Dec 4th. He had a double ear infection a couple Fridays ago. Last Tuesday, we took him for a ear recheck. The pedi said that they looked better but he still had fluid. Now this weekend he has been sleeping terrible. He will get up in the night and just cry...even if we go get him. He doesn't really touch his ears or have a fever, but I just don't get the all of a sudden not STTN. DH is positive that he doesn't have one. So he doesn't want me to take him back to the pedi. WWYD?

  • Any teeth coming in? See how DS is today and then take him in.

  • I'd take him.  That's how Adam acts when he has his ear infections.  Many times he doesn't have a fever either.  It doesn't hurt to make sure the infection is down.

Can't really tell...but he only has 8 teeth and 1 molar. He still has a lot more to get, so this is also a possibility!!

  • I would take him.

  • I'd take him. For all you know the fluid just never drained & is now causing a problem.

M's pedi always wants to see her if her sleeping pattern changes.

  • I would take him in to have his ears rechecked. DD just had her first ear infection and the only reason I knew something was wrong was because she was abnormally fussy and would not eat. However if he was waking up because of his ear infections maybe he is doing it out of habit now? I would still take him in to get them rechecked. Thats just me though.
  • I would take him in... DS was just diagnosed with his second double ear infection in 2 weeks... we finished antibiotics on wednesday and he was sick again by saturday :-( And the only sign for us Saturday was crankiness and not eating. By Sunday it was goopy eyes and coughing and we went in to get him checked out. Good luck!
