My day alone with LO and no power

So we got the huge storm fri into sat (About 2 ft) and DH was on call fri night and had to stay all of sat too (40 hrs) bc the next guy was snowed in til 9pm. We lost power fri night (and therefore heat except we had installed a gas fireplace in our bedroom thank God). I had to bring DS in to sleep in bed with me and we spent all day Sat in there. I also have 2 dogs and an invisible fence that was out just to add to the fun. Luckily DS was an angel and we definitely spent some quality time together. DH got home about midnight and slept on the floor since DS was in bed with me. We got power back thankfully and spent much of this morning digging ourselves out (like the tree down across our driveway). Thankfully we have such awesome neighbors that helped. So much for my restfull weekend after my first week back to work and a not sleepy baby. Hopefully this week goes better. I'm just so happy to have DH and power back! The good news: over 6" more predicted for Tuesday/wed...

Wow!  Good thing you had that fireplace!  Glad it all worked out for you guys!

I would have been so freaked. We got a ton of snow here and that was my worst nightmare. Glad you made it through okay (and good thing you had that fireplace in your bedroom!).
