I want to go save Daddy..

And Lily. He's trying to put her to bed. Seeing as how I can't seem to ever get her to sleep on her own. Apparently neither can he. She's hollering, I'm sitting here on pins and needles b/c I hate to hear her cry and I want to go up and grab her from DH and calm her down. I just fed her before he took her up, so I know it's not hunger...

I'm starting to get frustrated that we can't get her to go down in her crib at night for a few hours at least. I love bedsharing, and plan to continue for quite some time, but want her to be able to sleep in her crib on her own too, so that when we eventually do transition her out of our bed, that will be one less thing to battle with. Anyone have any good suggestions? I keep thinking when she hits that miraculous 4mo mark when they start to self soothe, she'll be able to... but then I worry she won't, and that she'll be in our bed until she's 18! lol

  • at 2 months, I would step in. Now at 5 months, I'm more likely to let them work it out. Will she sleep in a swing/bouncy seat? We still put emmy down for her first stretch of sleep in the swing...

  • If it's not about the breast then I would step outside with a glass of wine and let Dad handle it. He has to hear her scream with you too.

I wish. The only place she'll sleep is in the Moby/wrap on me or Daddy. We tend to trade who has her in the evenings. We can occasionally put her in the swing once she's asleep and she'll stay down. Her brother conned me into thinking babies were easy- He generally went down w/out any trouble. Stinker.

Is there a time of day or night where she goes down easy? For my dd the easiest time was 10:30. For some reason, it was like clockwork.  That's when I would put her in the crib. Once she was doing ok with that I started her earlier in the night in the crib.
