Big boy room progress

Charlie is moving into our old office (& junk room) and the baby will take over the nursery. So far we've:

Cleaned out the room (the rest of my house is a disaster now trying to figure out where all this stuff is going...)

Painted the walls bright green

Bought the bed spread & small rugs

DH & friends refinished the hardwood floors last night (still needs another coat or two of varnish, but will be done this morning)

Oh, the new ceiling fan will probably go up today too

We're picking up the furniture tomorrow morning!

Still need to buy sheets & window treatments.

And I'm trying not to get emotional over this. I think I'm still in denial that my baby is really growing up.

I will post pics when we get the furniture & everything in there. I'm still nervous its not going to come together like I've envisioned.

We got him this from Ikea:

And this little rug:

 

The walls are close to the green on the wheels of the car and we left one wall bright blue which is close to the body of the car rug. We're also putting his road rug from Home Depot in there (the kind with roads & train tracks to drive toy cars on). I might make an Ikea trip to get the matching material they sell & make valances.

This is the bed & night stand we're getting from Nick's cousin. There's also a dresser w/ mirror & desk that match:

 

I am so nervous about the height of the bed! And also how that blue is going to look with everything else.

Charlie's kind of getting the idea. He knows that its going to be his big boy room & we've been keeping him involved with picking things out. But I have no clue how actually sleeping in there will go!

That bedding is adorable!  I can't wait to see the home when it's done- I'm sure Charlie is going to love it!

I love the bedding! Wish we had an Ikea near us - they have such great stuff. I'm sure Charlie will do great in his new room.
