S/o STTN? Do you put LO back to sleep

When he/she wakes around 5:30/6? DD sleeps from 7-5:30.. we feed and put her back to sleep until 7:30 or 8. I'm just wondering if this is common or if I am just a sucker for sleep. I am at home with her, however, so I know that some people just have to get up during that time. That's not what I'm referring to.

  • I used to do this, but we started putting her down later in the evening so she'll get up later...at least until I go back to work.

  • DS usually wakes at 3am and 7am, and I put him back down until 8-9am if I can.  He goes to bed at 9pm-ish

  • before 6am i put ds back to sleep
  • I do this. we put him back to bed until he has been asleep 12 hours, he seems to want to sleep that much too, so we haven't had any problems with that.  There have been some days that he is wide awake at 6 and will not fall back asleep but those days are rare...thankfully.
  • The first 2 weeks DD was in her crib (between 4 1/2 and 5 months), she would wake at 5 and we'd bring her to bed with us until 730-8 when she would wake up for good. Lately, she's been sleeping straight through until 730-8, then eating and staying up for an hour or 2 before her first nap. Today she woke up (her daddy was making too much noise in the kitchen!!!) at 6am, ate, and went back down until 930.

We just follow her cues though, if she wakes up acting hungry, we feed her. If she falls asleep or is still rubbing her eyes after eating, we put her back down. Otherwise its playtime! ;)

  • Yup, he sleeps from about 9:30/10pm till 6am and then falls asleep after I feed him and sleeps until 9am

  • If DD goes to bed at 11pm, she will wake for a feeding at 6am.  I will put her back down and she wakes up for the day around 11:30-noon.  Otherwise, she stays up until 1am and then STTN until she wakes up at 12:30pm.  She never takes naps so I use the time in the mornings to get things done.

  • when I was at home then yeah, I'd try and put her back to sleep when she would wake up around 5:30ish... either back in her bed or just in her bouncy seat... that way I could just lay around until my oldest got up a few hours later.

  • nope.  once he's up, he's up.

If he wakes up REALLY early (aka before 5am like today!) then we give him a lovey & turn on his aquarium to keep him content another 15-30 minutes.

  • He gets up between 5-6.. DS changes him and puts him in bed with me for another 1-2 hours.

  • My DD sleeps from 8-630, then I feed her and she goes back down until 930 or so.  On the days I work I get her up at 5am and feed her and then she sleeps at daycare until 930.
