Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Air conditioning = awesome naps.

It's been hotter and more humid than crap here lately and as a result, DD's naps have been incredibly sucky.  30 minutes tops most of the time.  She would do ok on cooler days, but as soon as the heat and humidity rose, she was too uncomfortable again.  We had an air conditioner downstairs (but not in the bedrooms), so most of the time I had to bring her bassinet down with me and then tiptoe around half the day so I wouldn't wake her.

Well we FINALLY got our central air installed yesterday and she is sleeping like a little angel today!  She's on her second 2 hour+ nap and it's only 3pm.  Best investment we have made in a looong time.

Yaaaaaay!

Seriously.  I have no CLUE why we waited so long to get it.  I have been in a chipper mood all day long.  And my face doesn't feel like it's sweating off anymore!  Love love love it.

this! when I delivered LO, our AC wasn't working, but thankfully my MIL and FIL had it fixed in time for us to come home to a nice cool house.

  • Yay!! Are you sure there isn't any magic 2-hr-nap powder blowing through the AC instead? I could use some. We have been cursed with 45min naps at best.

I soooooo feel your pain.  It was getting to the point where my patience was running super thin with DD by 9pm because I didn't have any time to just take a breather.  Her 'naps' were just spent rushing around trying to clean/eat/shower/etc and I usually didn't get hardly anything done by the time she woke up.

I hardly know what to do with myself today!  LOL.  I'll send you some nap dust, WF ;)

thanks hun!! I am not doing anything AT ALL these days. Ugh. And my mom is here, only now DS refuses to fall asleep with anyone else (DH included). Not that he falls asleep with me either but at least, when he is hungry enough to nurse properly (hello nursing strike!) he will eventually pass out when he is done, so I spend my days trying to feed him before he becomes totally miserable. I feel like I'm living in a cursed loop.

  • Can I just say that I am extremely jealous that you live somewhere that is hot right now!!  It is snowing and freezing here--I am dreaming of the days when I can turn on the AC.
