Doctor Out of Town - vent

When I went for my 36 week appointment yesterday I found out that my doctor is leaving town for vacation this weekend and she won't be back until February 17. I am so afraid I am going to go into labor now and 2 of the doctors filling in for her are old men. I chose a female for a reason and will be so upset if I don't get to have her deliver this baby like she did with the last. My doctor is wonderful and only has other doctors deliver her patients if she is out of town. Otherwise she will come at anytime day or night to deliver. I am really hoping I can hold on until the 17th!

That stinks! Hopefully your baby will hold off until after she gets back, and in the meantime, stay away from spicy food!

That's exactly what I am doing. I am not trying anything to get this labor started until after the 17th. My coworkers wanted to go out for Mexican food today and I told them there was no way I was eating that today!

my doctor is out of town too..he went skiing..which i guess i have to realize they have lives too..LoL...but I dont mind if i go into labor and hes not here...im sooooo tired of being pregnant...

My Dr. was out of town when I went into labor. LUCKILY the Dr. doesn't really do much. The Dr. who took his place I saw for maybe 30mins of my 36 hours labor. the nurses did all the work and he just came in every now and then to get the stats and then when I started pushing. So luckily you will have your female nurses still!
