I posted this on the toddler board but I didn't get any responses. Do you ladies have any advice? Please?
DS has been sleeping in his crib without any problems for 10 months.
He would drink his milk while I would rock him, read him a book, he
would take his paci, and I would put him down awake and he would fall
asleep on his own until 7am. DH could never put him down awake so he
would rock him to sleep but still he would sleep all night until 7am.
We just had a new baby 3 months ago which I was thinking might be the
problem. She is still in the cradle in our room and I think he may be
jealous. But, this just started 1 month ago, 2 months after we brought
her home.
He will NOT fall asleep on his own. If we rock him
to sleep, it has been taking over an hour and he wakes up 20 min later
hysterical and wants to come into bed with us. So I tried letting him
CIO for a few nights. Not good! He cried for 3+ hours, would be so
upset that he would poop and I would change him. I was going in to
check on him every 15 min. He was so upset with puffy eyes, and snot
all over his face. I just can't do it. He was still standing in his
crib at 1am, screaming. So, we started sitting in the chair in his room
and he would put himself to sleep after 45 min or so but he is waking
up after 1 hour pointing to the chair, upset that we left the room.
This goes on every hour until we give up pull him into bed at 3 am. We
have been doing this for 2+ weeks. It is not working. I hate to torture
him if something else is going on but we have to get some sleep...all
of us!
Re: XP: Help! My LO won't sleep in his crib anymore?!?!
HHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been wondering about you!
Sorry. I have no advice. DS still comes into bed with us around 1am. He goes down around 8, sleeps until 1, comes into our bed, then sleeps until 7. I don't know what else to do because we tried modified crying around 16 months and it wasn't working for us. Not sure what to do once the new one comes!

This one is a boy! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Scared of the jealousy thing. D sleeps so well with us that I hate to change it and don't want to now anyway bc I'm afraid he'd feel pushed out once the new baby is here. We'll make it work. Feeling pretty good. I had some hip problems but went to physical therapy and it's getting better. Only a few weeks left!
I hope he starts sleeping better for you!
