Mine started around 9 weeks. I noticed when I would stand up suddenly or roll over in bed fast that I would get that intense pull. In fact, one night I grabbed my water bottle & rolled over to take a drink & had such a sharp pain that I yelled sh*t in my husband's face! He was startled to say the least!

I saw my OB yestserday, and asked her about the one-sided pain issue that I was having if I was trying to move suddenly or laughing while laying down. She said it was round ligament pain, and I'm 12 weeks, I think it started about 10 weeks. She said that it is normal, she said round ligament pain normally starts towards the end of 1st tri and then can go up to 3rd tri, but she said most ladies don't have it later on in pregnancy for some reason - maybe b/c ligaments have stretched to their limits
I don't know if what I am having is round ligament, but I've had on and off cramping (usually at least one time per day) since before my BFP. In fact last night I had cramping for about 5 minutes instead of just the usual fleeting feeling. It isn't intense, just feels like regualr menstrual cramps, and everything I've read said it can happen anytime as your body adjusts to all the new changes.

The cramping is just your uterus expanding, round ligament pain is a sharp pain in a central location associated with quick movements or coughing.
