I am trying the natural approaches to inducing labor as I am trying to do avoid my scheduled C-Section on 2/12.
I tried the Labor Cookies (yummy - but not effective).
I drink Red Raspberry Leaf Tea.
I just bought another pineapple to eat.
I am thinking about making Eggplant Parmesan for dinner tonight.
And I was just researching online and found some info on Evening Primrose Oil. Have any of you guys tried this or heard anything about it? Some of the websites mention taking it orally and/or inserting the capsules vaginally. I don't know if I want to insert anything - but I wonder if just taking the capsules orally will be as effective...
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
Re: Evening Primrose Oil?
have you tried walking, sex, or bouncing on an exercise ball? I swear all those things put me into labor!
I have heard the evening primrose oil can cause problems for LO so I wouldn't reccomend it.
Doula told me to start once I hit 36 weeks- one orally in the morning, one orally at night, and one vaginally (with a hole poked in the pill) each night. It is supposed to help soften the cervix...
Talked to my MW today and she said I can do it if I want, but there is really no medical proof behind it. She said it won't hurt, so I'll prob start at 36 weeks as suggested by doula.
Evening Primrose Oil taken orally can thin your blood. So confirm with your doctor that its okay for you to take.
Not sure if that applies to inserting it..
