3rd Trimester

I don't think this LO is head down anymore...

Last night there was a huge shift in my stomach.  So noticeable and uncomfortable that it startled me.  I immediately thought that he flipped on me.  I've been waiting for him to have the hiccups (he has them several times a day).  Sure enough I can feel the hiccups up high rather then way down low like I had been feeling them.  He still has plenty of time to find his way back down right?  I had read from my babycenter updates that baby would be head down from here on out.  I'm just worried about him running out of room to flip again.  I was measuring two weeks ahead last check up so he's going to be big like his brother was.

  • My friends baby has been head down all along until at 37 weeks she went transverse. The doctor told her there was still time to move even at that point and sure enough by the next week she was back to being head down. I was under the impression that they wouldn't move much at a certain point, but hers did! But at 31 weeks I would think you still have time!

  • I was told they are usually head down at 34 weeks, but have until 36 weeks before they make a decision to do a c-section

  • The same thing happened to me. Baby was head down, and one night while sitting on the couch, It felt like the baby was doing huge flips, and the movement was so painful!!! I could have SWORN the baby was now breech or sideways.

Then, at my next appt. 2 days later, my OB said the baby was still head down, in perfect position.

  • My doc said she's not worried about the baby's position until week 37, so it looks like you have some time!

  • Oh, and - my LO has been head down all along, but for some reason, I feel hiccups high up like 1 time out of 10.  It's like his head is braced down low, so his jolts get expressed up by his butt.  LOL, clearly I can't explain it, but there is hope!
