x/p - Water Aerobics?

anyone go to a water aerobics class? I have never been to one but am thinking about trying it out. Did you feel like you still got a good, hard workout? I'm getting bored with my other low impact exercise routines.

  • I go every week as part of my pre-natal workout program. I LOVE them..you really feel it when you get out of the water.

  • I used to teach water aerobics.  You can get a good workout, but you have to put the effort into it.  It's a great program for toning muscles and getting a low impact workout!  Enjoy!
  • I went for a while a few years ago and I thought it was a good workout. I really liked it.
  • I wore my HRM when i took one, and I really didn't feel like I got much of a workout.
  • I haven't done water aerobics yet, but am swimming every weekend. As a former "runner", I've found this this the best low impact exercise and I really do feel it the next day.
  • Hey Stepgirl... I haven't tried the water aerobics class at my gym yet- but I am going to! I just started swimming the past 2 weeks to get into shape and it feels great! It is way more exercise than I have been doing (which is none up until the 2nd tri) and it feels like huge work out to me. It is strange to not have my bathing suit look right- but oh well.

If I were you I'd try to the pool- either for swimming or aerobics. It has helped my back feel better. And i get sick of the treadmills, elipticals too
