Wow I would definitely say bf's is cheaper. I know I don't eat $30 more a week now let alone when I bf my DD. My pump was covered my my insurance (not all do but it is something to check into!). I stayed home with her for about 3 months and then when I went back to work I pumped whenever I wanted. (I'm a pharma drug rep). I did this till about 7 months when DD started having a bigger appetite and my milk started drying up...

Even if it were $30 a week for extra food, or $30 a week for formula, I would much rather enjoy spending my $30 eating delicious food and bf-ing my child, rather than spending it on formula. I mean if it's all the same and all...

I eat very healthy, and it my grocery bill has not really gone up since becoming pregnant (and that requires the same calorie increase).
That is the strangest argument ever.
If you weren't eating healthy prior, and you switched to a healthier diet, it would cost more. My doctor put me on a "heart healthy" non-diet because of my blood pressure - and I do pay more.
But I do agree - the extra 300 calories (if you don't change WHAT you're eating, just how much you're eating) - won't really put a dent in your grocery bill.
