So about half the guys DH works with have kids and on Friday they had a little pep talk with him. They told him that whatever he did to not be brave and take a peek at what was going on down there and to stay by my head the whole time!
Men could you imagine if they had a period?!
Re: DH's coworkers wise advice
Last I heard DH was still "deciding" if he was going to look or not but I know he'll end up looking:) This is too special to him for him to miss it. I also don't have any worries about the "sex appeal" factor. Having a baby (um, probably the most important experience of his life) and sex are two very, very different things. Many men every day watch their child being born and go on to live normal sex lives, LOL.
Me too.....
I don't think its a sex thing for DH he will always be turned on by me LOL I think its more an EWWW factor.
My girlfriends husband said the SAME thing. He walked across the room to get the baby and made the mistake of looking at the floor! lol Poor guy wasn't expecting to see what came out!
Personally...I want my husband to WANT to venture back down there so I'd like to keep him from seeing anything unpleasant! lol
M/C Dec 2010 - 5w5d Missing my sweet angel baby.
My sex appeal is already so damaged....especially judging by the wide eyes and dropped jaw after DH saw me for the first time in my maternity undies last night. Then I laughed and said, "please don't cheat on me, ok?"
Someone (male) told me that the episiotomy (sp, sorry) is one of the most amazing things to see. Because the dr has to be so quick with the flick of the wrist, drops the knife and catches the baby.
That's hilarious. Don't be brave LOL
My DH is a fireman/paramedic and had delivered babies before we had our DD, so he said he didn't want/need to cut the cord because he had done it before and wouldn't look because he had seen that too and didn't want to see it on his wife.
Oh yeah, it took all of about 5 seconds for him to be down there going, This is SO cool!!!
It certainly did not stain his image of me as a "wife" LOL, although I know for some men, it really can scar them for life...like my dad
I know "Don't be brave!" LOL What about me and my bravery?!
I so can't see that happening to DH he saw me lose my mucus plug and 20 mins later was trying to get lucky! He likes sex way too much, but I guess for some men maybe it would.
I was all prepared for DH to pass out since he gets quesy at the sight of blood but he surprised me. He was holding my leg, looking to see what was going on and even cut the cord. Ha, I think he was in shock!
And believe me, after the 6-week post-pregnancy wait I think most men will forget about even remotely finding any aspect of it unattractive and will just be ready to get it on!
I"m on baby #3 so looking "down there" obviously hasn't made him decide that my vagina is a hideous bloody gaping hole and that I've lost all of my sex appeal. He will look. He will say he doesn't want to like he has every time but he will.
And he will forget about it in 5 minutes, LOL!
My DH was holding a leg and saw everything. Between an IV pole and the monitors for me and baby, there wasn't much room by my head.
He was the first one to tell me that DD1 had hair, and saw her before I did. No, he wasn't traumatized. Our sex life is just fine, post-baby.
Honestly, I'd think less of him if he let something like that affect our sex life.
