Prenatals

Anyone else getting fishy aftertaste from their prenatals? (I'm taking one a days, and DHA)

I keep burping up this old sushi taste and it's making me sick.

Re: Prenatals

  • It's the DHA.  See if you can find a DHA that either says it has "no aftertaste" or switch to an algae based one.

My step-dad tried a DHA supplement that is strawberry flavored and he said he had strawberry fish burps.  *gag*

  • I didn?t - and I took the ones you are on for about a year.  Talk to your OB about switching - it may just be that your stomach is messed up right now and needs a break from the ones you have been taking.

  • Agreed, it's the DHA. Switch to one that says on the bottle "no fishy burps." I take the Sundown Fish Oil that doesn't have fishy burps and I haven't had a problem with them yet.
  • Thanks ladies! You all are so helpful! :)

  • I take Carlson's brand cold liver oil capsules (cold liver oil for the vitamin D during winter). They taste like lemon, and I do get lemon burps, but no fishy aspect. Nordic Naturals is a good brand, too, though I think they might not have capsules. hth
