How long did your PP bleeding last after delivery? Also, when I ask about bleeding I mean bleeding like you would have with a period... I had a vaginal birth and am breastfeeding. I posted this on 0-3 and got about 2 replies. TIA!
My 2 previous pregnancies I bled for 6 or 7 weeks the first time and 5 weeks the second time I think. Seemed like much longer than others I knew... But maybe not.,

mine only lasted about 1 1/2wks steadily, then there was spotting for a # of wks afterwards. And for me it wasn'y so much bleeding as it was that nasty lochia stuff. I had a C-section I don't know if that is why of if that is just how my body was. Everyone is different. Once the PP bleeding stops, its likely you won't have a period until you stop BF'ing, most women don't, but that doens't mean you're not ovulating so if you do not want to become pregnant again use BC!!!
Had an emergency C/S with DS... I bled from August 1st to Thanksgiving. Then didnt bleed for 7 months. They aren't sure why I bled for SO long nothing they gave me stopped it. It just stopped on its own. I'm sure I am not the "norm" for PP bleeding. I am REALLY hoping that this time it not as bad!
Ok heavy bleeding for like 1.5 to 2 weeks then lingering grossness for the rest and I BF DS and he nursed like ALL the time and I got my period 6 weeks pp...
I also had a vaginal birth and breastfed. Mine was heavy for about a week, moderate for another week, and then light/spotty for another week or two.

But that first real period after birth, watch out! I literally had to drive 45 minutes home to change clothes. It was unreal.
Mine wasn't that bad. It was similar to my pre-pregnancy periods, which were always fairly light. I also didn't get mine until DD was 18 months, just before I finished weaning her.

For me, it was heavy for less than a week and then lightened up considerably. Then the light bleeding lasted for around four more weeks.
Just when I thought it was gone, I got another day or two of heavier bleeding right around six weeks, which apparently is pretty common. After that it stopped.
Pretty close to a solid month, had to wear the diaper for like 2 weeks, then switched to a big pad, then eventually a liner, it was alot, thought I was hemmoraging in the beginning!
I bled for maybe 2 weeks but it wasn't very heavy- it was a bit heavy the first few days (the last week I used pantyliners). I was breastfeeding exclusively until a little after 6 months and at 7 months my period came back. Really it wasn't bad like everyone says- it was a normal period for me and no extra cramps, etc. I also had a vagnial birth.
6 weeks. like a heavy/med period for about 1 (cant remeber exactly) and the rest was like spotting depending on the day. it would kinda come and go. i wore heavy pad for about a week and a light pad for the rest. then pantyliner for the last week or so. GL! it is liberating when you dont have to wear a "diaper" any more! i think if you are Bf'ing it gets lighter faster (IMO) because the bf'ing contracts your uterus more and pushes all that lochia out.
I only bled for about a week then had the brown discharge for about another week. I got off pretty easy. Vaginal birth and EBF. I didn't get my period for 14 months when I stopped nursing DD.
The bleeding lasted about a week to 10 days...the first week was a LOT of bleeding, like a really heavy period, then for the remaining few days it was just spotting.
Re: Question for 2nd time moms
I think it was about 10 days or so before I could go without a pad. Same thing, vag birth, BFing.

5.5 weeks with my 1st formula feeding
4 weeks with my 2nd breast feeding

I had a vaginal birth and BF'd as well.

With DS, I had vag birth and had period bleeding for about 10 - 12 days after, then spotting (only needed a pantyliner) for about 2 weeks after that.
I EBF'd too and didn't get another period until DS was 7 months old.

I bled for about 3 weeks and then spotted for a week....and then got my period.
Lucky me.
I didn't BF, though.
