Heartburn??

Has anyone else had an increase in heartburn around 19 weeks? I was up all last night with heartburn so bad I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest. My heart literally hurt. I didn't have any tums in the house so I had to go to bed with it and that made it way worse. It hurt worse when I was laying down then standing. Does this happen to anyone else?

Oh yes.  If that old wives tail is true im giving birth to a monkey.  When you go to bed try to start with the pillow propped up behind you sitting up.  Laying down will only aggrevate it.  Tums help and my doc ok zantax.  Good luck!

 I had it for the first time last week. I didn't expect it so soon! I drank a small glass of milk and it helped (a little). I also tried sleeping propped up, but didn't sleep much. It eventually went away and I will be buying some Tums ASAP.

try orange juice or lemonade... anything acidy will help..

Yes.  I had it on and off ever since getting pregnant, but at about 19-20 weeks I started getting it HORRIBLY all day, every day.  Thankfully I have an appt. tomorrow and will ask my OB what she recommends because Tums are not cutting it.
