Ovulation/trigger ?

Hello ladies,

I'm supposed to be getting my first IUI this cycle. Tomorrow I have an appt. and my dr. told me that hopefully my follicles will be big enough to trigger, if they give me the trigger shot tomorrow, I will be getting the IUI on tuesday. However, since I have a bunch of $ store opks, I tested both yesterday and today and today it came out positive...now I'm worry that by the time we do the IUI (on tuesday) it will be too late.  For those that deal w/ getting trigger shots.   What do you guys think?

I'm hoping my egg/s won't be release till after the trigger shot, but I'm not sure

you will test positive for ovulation 24-36 hours before you actually do

Then the eggs that are triggered live for about 12-24 hours after you Ovulate.

If you are using Dh's sperm, i would have sex tonight (to cover the before O) and let the IUI happen on Tues.

I would also have sex tues night, if you can

If you are doing IUI's do to MFI, then scratch what i say and it'll all be alright lol

My doctor had me use OPKs starting on the morning of day 11.  If I got a positive, they'd have me come in immediately to check if it was a true LH surge.  Definitely tell your doctor about the positive test and ask about maybe doing the IUI tomorrow without a trigger.  Don't panic.  Voice your concerns but also trust your doctor.  GL!

We are on the same time line. I have baseline tomorrow morning at 9. RE told me last time that hopefully follies will be big enough to trigger and then have IUI Tuesday. Keep us updates on how it goes!

Thanx ladies;

I'm gonna call tomorrow morning (my appt is in the afternoon).

Autumm; my dr. told me no more sex after sat. night til after the IUI...not sure if she said that because DH has a slight low sperm count. 

Either way I'm gonna call tomorrow as soon as they open.

so the first time your follies are getting checked is CD14?  

They really need to start checking you sooner so you don't miss your window.

they checked them friday (cd#11) but they were too small, that's why I was told to go back monday.

ah, I see.  My RE would have had me come in on Sunday (every 2 days until they were mature)... but you'll probably be fine with Monday if they were small enough.
