When your told "no caffeine" and your KU and in your 1st tri.
Drinking tea bag brewed iced tea would be a "no,no" right?"
I think this girl just doesnt get it...If I was KU I would be anal retentive in making sure I avoided anything the doctor told me not to eat or do.
Re: I just need ya'll to confirm
That would have caffiene unless she knows it is decaf. Her doctor really told her none at all? I would never have made it out of 1st tri.
My doctor told me no caffeine, and I ignored him.
Someone would have been killed before the end of the first 13 weeks if I had gone completely without it.
I needed a cup of coffee every AM.
Yup, no caffeine at all. And I was there when she ordered it...just a regular ol' tea.
Oh and she put Equal in it, and then chewed some sugar-free gum afterwards...which I also think is on the "no" list.
Maybe I am over-reacting a little bit, but she has been bleeding on and off for a few weeks, is being closely monitored, taking prog. supplements for low hormone levels and I just feel like sometimes she should take being pg a little more seriously.
I would have laughed in my doctor's face. Like out loud.

And, thats not even where it stops. She was supposed to stop her MS meds months before TTC as per her doctor. I just found this out the other day, she stopped taking them once she found out she was KU but she was already 5 weeks by then.
ETA: This pg was supposedly planned
That sucks that she has been bleeding and is having to be so closely monitored, really it does, I feel bad for her. But honestly, what she eats or doesn't eat will have no impact on whether or not she "stays" pregnant right now to put it bluntly. I once read somewhere this quote that I often think of in situations like this.... "It is nearly impossible to save an unhealthy pregnancy and virtually nothing you can do to shake a healthy one." I am sorry your friend has to go through this but a cup of tea isn't going to change her outcome.
Seriously though, I used to think (prior to being pregnant myself) that there were so many things you couldn't do or eat while pregnant, but after a lot of research and talking with my OB I realized it's really not so strict, or black and white, again the key was moderation.
