2nd Trimester

So I think I am going into the ER

since about 5:00 last night I have been feeling a lot of pressure in my vag that sends some pain shooting through it. When I called my doc she was totally not helpful. (you can see my old post about her to see how rude she was). So it was still going on for a few hours and I didn't want to go walking around work for a few hours while I felt like I had a weight hanging from it. So I went home early.  All night it is still going on and I am cramping a bit with it too. So I think I am going to go on in soon. Just want to wait for the hubby to wake up.

Anyone else ever experience this?

  • If it's intense pressure I'd go in.  I haven't had it, but GL I hope everything is ok and I hope you feel better soon!!

  • I'm a little further along but I just had this happen on Thursday night.  Mine started as cramping then I started having shooting pains in my vag area.  It felt just like bladder spasms to me.  I went in & they said it was probably from passing a kidney stone that I already knew was in there somewhere.  It sounds to me like you may have a bladder infection or UTI.  Thats what I thought mine was at first.
  • Do UTIs feel different when you are pregnant? I have gotten them many times. mostly as a kid or young adult, and they didn't feel like this.

(BTW still waiting for DH to get up!)

  • I personally don't have enough experience with them to say for sure that they feel different.  I have been an OB nurse for 5 years & am still shocked at the number of women who have this "weird" pain or think they are in pre-term labor and have a UTI.  So I guess the feeling of them can be different.  How does your urine look?  That can't tell you for sure what is in there, but if it's really cloudy or dark or there is obvious blood it may be a sure sign.  Oh & if your feeling that bad, go wake up you DH!  It's Saturday, hopefully he can nap later.
  • that seems abnormal for someone who is as far as you are. i would definitly go in if it continues to the  later morning.
  • Sometimes I get a lot of pressure down there. My doctor told me its from the baby being in a funny position. I try to alternate laying on my left and right side to encourage him to move. The 1st time it happened it really freaked me out. I also have cramped really bad this entire pg. Sometimes its digestive cramps and sometimes its almost like period cramps. Its been the normal for me.
  • I had something similar a few weeks back, it almost felt like what a contraction might feel like with shooting pain/pressure down there. Mine came and went every 3-4mins and lasted abuot 1 min. I called the doc and she told me to come in right away. Turns out I had a bacterial infection and the baby wasn't liking it lol. Id have it checked out.
  • I went to the doc Thursday for the same thing. Turns out the babies are laying on each other on mt right side.So now got to stay on my left side.
  • I would go in! I read your earlier post and couldn't believe your doctor would ignore that. Mine is always telling me to call in if something seems wrong. I didn't have pressure but cramping last night and went into L&D thinking I was having RLP or BH but it turned out it my body decided to have real contractions. They stopped it with meds but I hate to think what would have happened if I had waited longer to go in.
