I got to see L & D first hand tonight as I went in for possible contractions. Luckily they were stopped with meds and the testing the hospital did all came back negative! But even feeling the light contractions I now know I definately want to have an epi!
Re: Definately getting an epidural after tonight!
I don't think it has to do with being strong or not. Everyone has different opinions on it. Some people fear medicating their child before it's even out of the womb, some people think of it as a "my ancestors did it and so can I", and some people think of it as if it's available to me and makes it easier, why wouldn't I take advantage?
For me, I always said I'd have one (I complain for days when I stub my toe! Pain and I do not get along well). However, I recently saw a video (babycenter.com I think) of a woman getting one and a needle that big going into my spine is just more than I can take! Of course tons of people tell me that I'll change my mind when the time comes. I think it's like baby names-it's your decision, don't listen to other people!
