Success after IF

How long does it take your baby to fall asleep for a nap?

If your LO sleeps in a crib for naps, how long does it take her/him to fall asleep?  There are times when it takes Jake 5 mins or less, but most of the time it takes anywhere from 20-45 minutes.  I feel like that's really long, but he's just talking in there and rolling around.  He's been in his crib now for about 20 minutes, was obviously tired when I put him in but now all of a sudden he's Mr. Talkative. Anyone else's LO do this?????

  • I wish I had an answer besides "never," but I don't.
  • It typically takes Henry five minutes or less...occasionally he'll talk to himself longer than that, but never more than 15 mins.

  • Grant can take up to twenty minutes to fall asleep. Once or twice, he's taken a bit longer.  Its hard to tell how long it will take too.  There are days that I'm sure that he'll be asleep before I get the monitor turned on, yet he's in there, rolling around for 20 minutes. But, I'm thankful that he falls asleep on his own instead of on me!

  • It usually takes Kira about 30 minutes.  She's fallen asleep before after 90 minutes or more!  It rarely takes less than 20 minutes, and 45 minutes doesn't surprise me.  There are days she doesn't fall asleep at all too.  But she usually falls asleep super quickly at night!

  • My DS tends to poop when I put him down for naps.  I go back in after 20 minutes and have to change him again.  Then I start the process over and rock with him until he is drowsy.  Usually he will fall asleep quickly after that, but some days he won't.  I usually give up on the nap if it has gone over an hour and he still hasn't fallen asleep - and that has been happening more often lately (like once a week).  Naps are so hard!

  • It usually takes about 5-10 minutes.  But there are times that after 30 minutes, I still here him talking and moving around.  That usually means that its not going to be a good nap!

  • Well, he's quiet between 1-5 minutes (usually fussing before then), but I guess I don't know if he's actually fallen asleep, or just stopped whining.  Hmmm...
