XP: Forgot pump attachments

I also posted this on the Breastfeeding board, but there's not much traffic right now on there.

This is my third week back at work.  Pumping's been going great.  DS eats about 12 - 16oz at daycare and I've been pumping 18-22oz at work each day.

Today I forgot my pump attachments. =(  Anyone go through this?  Because DS STTN, I don't feed or pump at night at all.  Will going through one day without pumping affect my supply?  I did feed him from both this morning, per usual, before dropping him off at daycare.  I will also feed him around 6:30pm when we get home.  Going home to get the attachments is not an option today unfortunately.

Re: XP: Forgot pump attachments

  • I'm not going to lie to you.  An entire day without pumping will likely affect your supply, and it will hurt.  Is there somewhere near your office where you could run and get new attachments?

  • Yes, there's a Babies R Us nearby that I can go to.  I was hoping not to have to because work is crazy today, but knew it might come to that based on the responses on the board.  Thanks, tosa.

  • I hope you can sneak out to BRU.  As I said, in addition to the supply issues, I would have been in major pain if I missed 2-3 pumping sessions when tosatoddler was 3-4 months old.
  • I would run out if you can.  I did this when I first returned to work and by the end of the day (I had taken the train to work and there was no way to get extra parts) I couldn't lift my arms and I was in A LOT of pain!
  • I was going to try to stop pumping at work so I purposely didnt pump or feed for a few days a couple weeks ago.  I changed my mind & everything went back to the way it was right away.  If you are concerned about it, go to BRU.  Otherwise, maybe you could express a little in the bathroom to relieve pain, take some tylenol, and pump when you get home til empty.
