Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Poll: Should I buy one of those utter covers

Here is the thing: I actually have a nursing cover but only used it once- it is black and DS was just learning and freaked out when I tried to use it.  So I haven' used it since-- BUT it would be really nice to have one and my friend has this one and says it is awesome-- So I was wanting to get one-- but I don't want to get it and just waste the money--

What do you think?

  • I ordered one, but really only because it was so cheap today.  Otherwise, I know I could live without it.  I never used one with DS.  I'm a sucker for sales.

mee too!!  if shipping wasntwasn't $9.95- iI would definitely get it-- but 14.95 is what my other nursing cover cost.  my friend said those kind r better because there is a bendy thing so you can see lo.
  • I have 2 nursing covers.  The udder cover is very thin and small.  The hooter hider (from babysteals for 14.99) is thick and bigger.  I stopped using them altogether with DD was around 6 months because she thought I was playing peek a boo with her and would throw the cover up.

I've never used one for DS.  My SIL ordered one and sent me the code.  The only place we have to shop here really is Target, so there's not much variety.  I have come to rely on online shopping and sales.  LOL.

  • I used mine a lot in the beginning.  The neckline is somewhat structured so you can see down it and it pulls away from the baby a bit.  It is really lightweight so DD didn't get too hot during the summer.

I stopped nursing a while ago, so I don't know if it would be good for a 6 month old.

LOL.  That's hilarious.  I imagine my use of it will probably be short lived and more of a "just in case" kind of purchase.

haha-- ds does the same thing with blanket- which is why iI thought this would be better-

thanks for the advice ladies- iI think imI'm going to pass this time :)
  • I think blankets work good. DS can't stand his head being covered. I use a blanket to cover everything below his head.

  • I have one just like it that my Mom made & I use it to give him a bottle if there is a lot going on around us.
  • noooooo!!!

i will send you mine (not ever used) if you really want one.  really cheaply made, thin material.  i was so entirely unimpressed (and mad that i paid $9 shipping).  i would never even give it as a gift.

seriously though - you have my email if you want mine.

Mama Jan- You are seriously the nicest bumpie!  :-)

  • Do you NIP?  Have you figured out another way to NIP without people seeing your boobs?  BC if so kinda seems like a waste at this time - that said I have a bebeaulait and love it - as well as a mommy cover - which is even better...

I rarely NIP because I haven't found a good way of doing it-- I did it twice-- at CEC (chuck e cheese) and put a blanket over me-- which DS kept trying to pull down.  And the time with my old nursing cover- which he got freaked out by.  I usually go out to the car or to the dressing room if I am at a store-

Oh I just thought of another time-- at the fair-- and I didn't have a blanket because it was the middle of the summer so I put like 3 burp cloths (which are actully cloth diapers) over him-

  • I have a baby au lait and I only used it once when he was 10 days old at an amusement park. I find it a royal pain in the a$$ and not worth my money.
