Vicks Cool Mist Vaporizer - HELP!

Anyone have this? My son is sick and I'm trying to clean it for him, but the sediment has built up on the heating element and I cannot get it off. And of course I lost the instructions, which I'm sure explains what to do to get it clean. Any ideas?

    google it.  that's how i found out how to clean ours.  all of these things have online instruction manuals.

    Yeah, that scale build-up is a PITA. If you soak it in baking soda + vinegar (it'll fizz up!), it helps...a little. Honestly, I've had to chisel it away with a dull knife or screwdriver.

    Which is why it's now in our basement and I'm using a totally different humidifier.

    Ya I'm thinking of possibly investing in a different one because it's such a pain to clean it. It builds up so easily. I don't have time to deal with it lol..Which are you using now?
