I know I really need to start giving my kids snacks during the day but I'm dreading it. I already feel like I spend most of my day preparing for and recovering from meals. Now we have to add snacks to the mix?? Argh.
I really, really do not want to give them food outside of the kitchen. So tell me, oh wise mommies, what is your advice? If you don't let them wander with food, what do you do? Do you put them in high chairs for snacks? What kind of stuff do you give for snacks besides cheese sticks? I need guidance. *sigh*

I think snacks are the easiest part about solids. I probably give them too often though, lol. I give him Mum-Mums, Cheerios, and BeechNut Let's Grow Banana Cookies. But that's about it cause he can't have dairy or soy. I'd love to give him cheese!
eta: I give them mostly when we're out and about. Cause it's usually when it's in between meals. He'll eat them while in his stroller.
I don't do messy snacks.
Snacks for us at home = puffs, cherios, raisins, crackers. I put them in a little snack cup (with the cover where you have to put your hand it to get them out) and do let him wonder around the house. The snack cup contains the mess, but I won't lie to you -- some stuff does come out.
At school they do fruit for snacks too, but they eat at the tables.
