Need to make a good choice for DH's truck (he has a 1/2 cab so the back seat doesn't have alot of space). Needs to easy to install (will be transferred to and from the babysitter's car several times a week). We bought a britax for my primary car, but don't want to spend that much.
Appreciate the input!
Re: Conv. car seat rec. for 2nd small car
For a small space, the Combi Coccoro is perfect. And it'll probably allow you to RF until around age 2 which is ideal. However, transferring a convertible seat from car to car multiple times a week is horrible. Even if it's easy to install, it's not something that is meant to be moved so much and there's a much higher risk of not getting a really good install every single time.
I HIGHLY recommend getting a Cosco Scenera for your sitter. You can find them for less than $50 and they're just as safe as anything else but very bare bones. Perfect for your situation.
Yes, the Radian is the slimmest on the market, but it's also one of the tallest. Because of that, it's usually NOT good for small backseats front to back (like a half cab) because it has a very deep recline and it's nearly impossible to make it more upright. I have a full size sedan and it *barely* fits RF in my back seat unless it's in the middle.
So, for cars that have short backseats, the Coccoro has a shorter shell that fits better front to back and is perfect.
