peanut butter/nuts are okay after 1 right?

I can't remember.  I will ask at pedi but I have no idea when DS' appt is (thank goodness for reminder calls).

We have no history of allergies.

  • I gave DS , 10 mo, peanut butter today.  I had previously touched it to his skin and he had no reaction.  He is losing weight when he should be gaining and I know from DD, who did the same thing, that peanut butter is a good way to stem this tide.

Good, DS is going to be a very happy boy tomorrow.  I have a feeling he is going to love PB

  • Yup.

DD had peanut butter at 10 months, though. She's a chow hound and stole her brother's sandwich.

  • My pedi said that the AAP is moving away from the 1 yr recommendation and saying that it is fine after 6 months, given there is not a history of food allergies. They say they are finding more problems with delaying foods than with starting them at an earlier age.  She said the AAP said anything is fine except honey, which is still 1 year.
  • I believe my ped told me 2, but I know I gave it to DS before then, but not right at 1.
