Moms of 6-monthers...

Tell me about your baby's eating "schedule."

How much? How often? How many oz. of BM or formula? How many times a day?  How many feedings of solids?  What kind of solids?  

Trying to figure this all out.  We started solids last week (only 1.5 tbs of rice cereal at 6:30 pm and bananas (about 2 tbs for "lunch" but she doesn't like them) but she's now not finishing her bottles anymore!!
(6 oz bottles - 1/2 formula 1/2 bm, 3 times a day, nurses in the am and before bedtime, so 5 feedings of liquids a day).

    We started solids 2-3 weeks ago.  He gets five six ounce bottles of formula (6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, and 6:30).  He gets oatmeal in the mornings (usually around 10 or so).  Not sure on the amount.  I use an ounce of formula and just add enough oatmeal until it is thick enough.  I feed him a fruit or veggie in the afternoon around 4:30 or so.

    Seems to be working out ok.  I don't really feel like I know what I'm doing though!

    Oh, and my pedi said to expect to lose a bottle.  As long as he gets 24 oz. of formula, he is ok (right now he gets 30).

    I was about to ask the same question. DS started solids at 6 months. Now he's not drinking a lot of bm so I'm worried. I wanted to see what other's schedules are like, too.

    Ever since LO started solids he's been a different baby. He's not as happy anymore, he doesn't STTN anymore, he doesn't want to nap, and he does want to drink his milk :(

    We BF so I can't really tell you oz but L seems to have been eating less the last week or so as well, he BFs 5-7 times in 24 hrs. We started cereal maybe 3 weeks ago and while he did Ok in the beginning he started hating it so I have stopped it I refuse to make meals unenjoyable for all of us. I have doen al ot of reading and deciding to do baby-led weaning, last night he had broccolu for dinner, he did pretty good with it. There is info in my blog about it of you are interested.

    He was eating around 7, 12, 5, 6 offer solids, 7pm, 11pm, and sometimes once or twice in the night. Although I think we are starting with another growth spurt because he has been nursing a ton today, he has already nursed I think 6 times and had some water (he was reaching for my glass os I shared).

    my little man eats 4 times a day;

    breakfast- 4oz formula, 2 tablespoons oatmeal and a stage 2 fruit

    lunch- 8oz formula bottle

    dinner- 4 oz formula, 2 tablesppons rice cereal and a stage 2 veggie or meat.

    late evening- 8 oz formula bottle.

    he has gained plently of weight and sleeps through the night. he has always gotten 4 feedings a day but we cut down on the formula at breakfast and dinner. we are trying to introduce the sippy cup with juice. just 1 oz here and there.
