What is the going rate for a private in (provider's) home care for a 6-8 week old infant? what about an older infant? What would you expect to pay a family member such as your sister
?
Let's say 40 hrs per week?
We live outside a small-mid size city with a relatively low cost of living?
Note: It would be their LO and my LO only.
Re: In provider's home child care
We pay $100 a week and she keeps 6 kids. Low cost of living here.
ETA: This is regardless of age.
We live in the suburbs of Chicago. ?Our lady charges $5.50 per hour, regardless of age. ?My cousin's lady charges her $5.00 per hour, also regardless of age.
?I have a coworker who sends her son to her sister-in-laws and I think she pays $4.75 per hour, which she thinks is a little high for family but she has not other options.
We paid $150 a week for infant (under 18 months). We supplied bottles and breastmilk, diapers.
And $125 a week now (over 18 months). She supplies all food and drinks. we just provide diapers
We're not far from you and back when I was working, we paid the woman who watched Ben (4 days/week) $65/day (under the table). She started watching Ben when he was 3 months old and after 6 months, had to go back to work because her DH had been laid off and they needed more money. I then had my sister watching him 2 days a week and we paid her the same.
Holy hell! What suburb are you in?! Mine charges $8/hr for infants. Not sure about older kids yet. I'm in Elk Grove.
