Rogam shot

I just had my prenatal basic visit and the dr told me that between 27-29 weeks (I will be 25 tomorrow) I get the rogam shot. He said I have to go to the hospital to get that done. Where is the shot administered? What week did you get it and does it hurt?? Thanks!

Re: Rogam shot

  • Hey! Mine was done at the hospital and it didn't hurt...I was actually rushed for time and they usually do it in the butt and I had it in my arm. No pain and no after effects. I got mine at 27 or 28 weeks. GL!
  • I have had it 4 or 5 times now because of the miscarriages and with my pregnancy. It's in the butt. It doesn't hurt and it's normally at 27 weeks or so unless you have bleeding.  It's no big deal- you will also have it after you deliver.

  • I got one at 9 weeks because I had bleeding, again around 28 weeks, and then another one the day after I delivered.  My OB administered the first two and the hospital gave me the last one.  All of them were high up on my butt and they didn't hurt at all!

  • I got it done at the dr office.  They did it in the butt and it didn't really hurt.  I had it done around 29 weeks I think.  I think I had t get another around 32 weeks when I had bleeding and went into preterm labor.  They told me I may need one after delivery if my baby was not negative blood type, but she was so I didn't need it.
  • I had to fill the prescription and bring it to my office for the first shot, the nurse did it.

In the hospital after delivery I got another one.

With my fist bleed with this pgcy I had on at the hospital.

    It isn't any big deal
