Met with a urologist today

It was an interesting visit.  I still think the H's have it way easier than us.  DH needs to go for a repeat SA since our last one was in July, Bloodwork and an Ultrasound on Monday.

The Urologist thought he felt a vericole(sp?) so that is why he wants the ultrasound. Has anyone elses DH had experience with this? It doesn't sound like its that hard to repair.

Re: Met with a urologist today

  • My H has a varicocele and is having surgery to correct it next week, it seems like an easy procedure. H didn't have an ultrasound to dx it, our uro could feel it but I know of other guys who had the ultrasound to dx it.

GL on Monday, keep us updated.

  • My DH had a double vericocele and had surgery in August to repair it. It was a pretty easy and quick recovery for him. His morph (which was the only thing that was low to start with) had went up with our two post-op IUIs. I'm waiting on the full post-op SA results now.

How long if any did you guys have to put your IUI's on hold?

Well, we did our first one post-surgery in October. But that was mainly because I had surgery to have a uterine mass removed the same week as DH had his surgery (his was Wed, mine was Fri) and I had to take a month off due to my surgery. His urologist recommend we wait 3 months to get the new sperm in but my DH is a college coach and his season is January-June so we can't cycle during those months. We wanted to get a few more tries in before we had to take this super long break.
