Co-worker wants to watch my DD, do I pay her?

My co-worker is engaged and really into babies and asked me when she could watch my DD so DH and I could go out for dinner. DH's b-day is coming up so I said sure for a couple hrs. Do I offer to pay her?? I don't want to offend her but I don't want her to feel like I'm taking advantage either...

Personally, I would offer to pay her.

If she offered and it wasn't due to you complaining that you can't find a sitter than no I wouldn't pay her monetarily.  Instead I might bake her something or do something nice for her in the near future.

always offer to pay.  she'll probably say no, and then you can bring her some food, or a small starbucks gift card or something to say thanks.

I have a couple of different friends that have watched Miles because they wanted to.  I offered to pay, but they both declined.  If she's really that into babies, she'll do the same.  If not, you'll know her expectations for next time.

i have a coworker who does the same.  i offered to pay her, of course she denied, but i got her a little gift from my son.  in this case it was Xmas so i got her a little ornament.  i wouldn't do it each time, but every now and then.
