how do kohl's children's shorts run?

I bought dd some bermuda shorts from kohls for this summer coming up.  I was just removing tags (stickers on these) and noticed no adjustable waistband.  Now, dd is petite.  Her jeans are 3T... they just fit in her in length, will probably outgrow them soon... but they are bunched with the adjustable waistband. She has some skinny jeans that are 4T that fit in length with a little room, and they are bunched at the waistband.  ugh. I don't know that she can wear these shorts by summer. She wore 2T shorts last summer, but they were short shorts on her.

anyone know how they run compared to , target or children's place or gap?  does the brand tend to shrink much? (she's at school, so I cannot try them on her right now)

any brand recs for little girl slim 4s?

Re: how do kohl's children's shorts run?

  • Which brand are they?  Are they the Jumping Beans?  And how tall/how much does your dd weigh?

Any shorts I buy dd at Target or TCP tend to look like hooker pants.  If I get them to fit her waist, they are WAY too short.  She is 4, about 37 1/2" with long legs and barely 30 lbs.  The Jumping beans usually are OK.  I always have to take the waist in a bit on anything that is not adjustable. If they are Carters (which I know Kohls carries) they are always huge in her waist.

  • If they are jumping bean I find they run on the slimmer side. DD is very thin and wears a 4 in their capris.
  • Loading the player...
  • they are jumping beans.. dd is around 38", maybe 30lb???  she was 26lb last year (she turns 4 next week).

I'll try them on her when she gets home... but they are stretchy in the back... I'm not sure how to tack take them in. I do sew, but I don't know how to do that yet?   (I just know basics).

    thank you both!
