What size is a mature follie?

Everything I've googled says that a mature follicle is between 10mm and 18mm but my 2 are 29mm and 22mm.  Are these too big?  Will they keep growing until I trigger or have my own LH surge?

Thanks Ladies!

Re: What size is a mature follie?

  • Normally they are considered mature between 17/18-23ish. Do you have some that are smaller like a couple of 16s they might be waiting for? I hope all goes well...

  • My RE's range for mature but not too mature follies is 16-24.  Anything over 24 is too big and won't produce a mature egg.

  • My RE says 18-22.

  • I agree & say that anything over 16 is somewhat considered normal for when you trigger it still has the chance to grow. My RE likes for me to into the 20's before I trigger. I would say the 29's are too big & the 22 is great! You should trigger soon.

  • My doc is happy with 20-25mm on Clomid.  Traditionally, they don't like them too much bigger (not >30mm), but there have been reports of pregnancy with some pretty darn large follicles so you never know.
