So my DCP mentioned yesterday afternoon that should would have to look in her book about J's eating and feeding schedule. I said what do you mean your book? She told me that she follows Babywise and she would look in her book to see what kind of schedule J should be on at 4 months. I didn't really know what Babywise was until I looked it up last night. Ummmm.....I don't think so lady! Just because you followed that book with your kids doesn't mean you are going to try and do that with my baby. Not that I have anything against the method, it's just not for my DS. My mom is taking him to a dr's appointment this morning and then to the sitter's. How should I broach this subject with her this afternoon when I pick him up?

Re: DCP and Babywise method
Just flat out tell her NO. She is not his parent so she doesn't get to decide his schedule.
Tell her what your expectations are and if she won't follow then, you will find another DCP.
I would be concerned she may agree with you and then follow what she believes anyway, if she has the chutzpah to TELL you what she plans on doing with your child!
Yes you're probably right. That isn't even something I thought to ask!

My BFP Chart
Have you ever read Baby 411? It is a great reference book and in it, the author reviews several baby books...Babywise being one of them. She graded it as an "F" b/c it is so rigid and instructs parents to let their newborns cry it out everytime they need a nap or at bedtime! I am all for crying it out with an older infant, but a newborn? The other thing that I did not like was the fact that you have to hold to the schedule...well I get hungry all throughout the day...what if my child does? Why would anyone want to withhold food just to stick to a schedule??!! To each their own and I know a lot of people who have had great success with Babywise, but I am with you--It's not for my child!
