Because if someone would like to my DS who has already been up 5 times since putting him down at 7 I would be much obliged. Then maybe I could read these damned sleep training books... WTF is wrong with you kid?!?!? And FWIW, even with our sleep problems, our pedi said no CIO until 8 months.
Re: Let's talk about sleep issues...
No advice just
I have been there and probably will be again. I am awake right now because LO is still a night feeder.
It sounds cliche, but, it will get better.
i feel ya.......my son is up about 4 times (every 2 hours) but sometimes he throws in an extra waking just for us
I think its just one of those things we have to deal with, but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel.......a very long tunnel, but there is an end......right?!
btw, my son has the same GAP sweater jacket, in red and in blue! Love Gap clothes for little boys!
Holy mother! My DD is still waking up an average of every two hours. Around her 6 month birthday (soon), we are going to try CIO. I don't think I'm even going to tell pedi until afterward (though he may actually agree with it). I know lots of people who started some form of CIO method around 6 months, it worked and their kids are all just fine.
This is what drives me nuts about CIO. You won't know until years later if you've caused any issues for your child. Adults tend to manifest this by having trouble with relationships and insecure attachments to people they care about because a functional part of their brain believes that they may lose these people, or that they will no longer care about them, etc. CIO has a very negative effect on parental attachment that may not be visible for a long time, even if the method "works" and allows your child to sleep.
OK... I'll join in on this. I'm tired, like seriously on the edge of tears tired all the time. DS has never STTN, not even close (up every 2-3 hours). Add in that I couldn't sleep the last two months of my pregnancy and that's half a year since I got a decent night of sleep.
Pity party over now.
