Other than the Ovidrel I took for the IUI's. This was 200ius Follistim and 75 of Menopur. It hurts pretty bad at the injection site which is normal right? Also, since I had my meds donated (thank you OOPMeds!!) I had to go buy syringes today...what gauge needle do you use? Mine looks kinda big, but maybe I'm just used to the Ovidrel needle?

I've never taken Menopur but I never had any pain at the injection site when I did my Follistim shots.

I had burning with the menopour. It helped if I iced the location for a bit before injecting. As far as the needle size. I used the follistim pen that came with needles. For the menopour though my RE prescribed the gauge and I took that to the pharmacy and they gave me the correct gauge. Also curious if you wouldn't mind sharing what RE you go to? I noticed we are from the same area & thought maybe we went to the same one. You can PM me if you would feel more comfortable responding that way.

When I first started shots, the injection site was tender. I haven't used Follistim or Menopur. My gages are somewhat small-27-30g. I have syringes that come with a 22 g & that is BIG!

I see mostly Dr. S too...he's the greatest! I've seen Dr. A a few times...he did my 2nd IUI and cheered on my DH's swimmers afterward...it was hilarious! If you don't mind me asking...what are you doing? IVF? IUI's? How long have you been TTC?

Just butting in to give love to the 'Nati girls. My mom saw Dr. A 14 years ago and went through multiple IVFs. My little brother was his great result .
