I know that you are dealing with genetic defects in your family and I believe that they are related to heart conditions. We've been seeing a genecist at Cincinnati Children's for Charlotte's skin-related genetic defects and there is a belief that she may have a syndrome involving cardiomyopathy. She just had an echocardiogram and we're going in for more testing and actually getting to see the cardiologist in early February. It looks like even if everything comes back normal, she is likely to have a lifetime of monitoring her heart.
Anyway, I was hoping you might have some insight or advice about dealing with the cardiology department, including if there are any doctors to seek out in particular or ones to avoid, if there are any particular questions we should be asking, etc. Thanks for your help.
