My son's new nickname: Screech

Ok, so DS's new favorite thing to do is scream, shriek, basically anything he can do at the top of his lungs. This is not related to irritation, pain or being tired or hungry or really even excited. It's kind of random. Seems he's trying out his voice, so to speak.

Is this a normal thing? I mean, it is literally ear-splitting. I'm trying not to make a big deal out of it but I have told DH that when he does it we should not respond like we do when he babbles (we babble or talk back) so at least we don't reinforce it.

    My DD went through a phase where she did that all day long. I couldn't BELIEVE how loud she could get.

    It lasted like a week. gl ;)

    OMG DD used to do this...it sounded like a taridactul dinasour to us...so that's what we called it for a while. She did it for a few weeks when she was excited or wanted our attention. it was cute. totally normal! get our the video camera, it may not last long and you'll want the memory :)

    DD has been doing this for probably almost 2 months now.  It was cute at first but now I'm ready for it to be over!  DH says at least it's better than crying!

    He does a lot of cute things but I don't think I'm going to record this one for posterity - it might break the mic on my camera!
