Hi fellow WM! I'm getting excited to go back!

And it's not just because I have both kids home today and while the little one was screaming bloody murder the big one took off her diaper while she was supposed to be napping.  I'm actually just excited to rejoin the grown up world.  I'm looking forward to exercising my brain and my bad-ass excel skills (lol).  I'm also looking forward to getting dressed up and for blowing out my hair and putting on some make-up.  And for eating lunch at a normal time and not with one hand.  And for people to ask my opinion because it matters to them.  And for that feeling of accomplishment when I finish a deliverable that is done well.  And for that awesome feeling at the end of the day when I see my babies and they are super excited to see me too.

*ETA* This is not directed at anyone else or their experiences going back to work. If anything, I hope it helps someone by seeing some of the positives of working.

I agree and relate 100%. I'm going back from maternity leave 2 weeks early because I want to be there.

Thanks. Love my kids but I only work 3 days anyway and working is SO much easier than parenting! LOL!

This was great to read -- I'm going back in 3 days and feeling very ambivalent. I love working and being around adults but I'm so nervous about managing everything and missing her. I just keep reminding myself how many women do this and do it well! Thanks for posting some encouragement.
