Babies: 3 - 6 Months

I need some encouragement please

This whole weight loss thing sucks.  I have lost almost 3 pounds and 1.5" in two weeks - that is with a daily workout and (my best for now) dieting.  WTH!  I am feeling super discouraged about the whole thing.  Maybe I am expecting major results too fast, but I feel like my body just hates me.

Somebody tell me it will get better.

  • It will get better!! Have you started taking a daliy multivitamin? I noticed that the vitamin gave my metabolism a boost.

  • You are doing really good!  The average HEALTHY weightloss is on about a pound a week.  If you lose the weight too fast it's not good for you and will most likely be water weight.  Keep going your doing Great!!!  Yes

  • Howa you are doing great!  It's always slow at first. Stressing about it will keep weight on b/c increased stress hormones = holding onto weight.  Try to just relax. Something that helps me take of weight is a cup or green tea a day hot or cold.  Plus, it's good for you so you can't go wrong.  I'm behind you 100%.  GOOD LUCK!  :)
  • Remember too that if you are working out you are building muscle, which weighs more than fat. However...muscle burns more calories and is much better in the long run. And it doesn't jiggle :-)

    I agree with this - you are doing great and right on track!  I weigh myself once a week.  I have found that when I eat better and exercise more I don't see the results immediately, it usually takes a week or two.  GL - you are doing great - don't get discouraged!  Slow & steady is the way to do it!   

  • I would be super excited about the 1.5"! The weight lost may be slow because you're building muscle, but seeing a difference in your measurements and the way your clothes feel is what really matters! Who cares what your weight number is, if you like the way your clothes fit and you feel good about your shape?! Plus the weight loss will catch up eventually - it just takes time.

  • Thanks guys.  I think I need to be more realistic/patient...today was just the first day I wanted to quit.  Not just the "I don't want to do this today" I mean flat out I'll just be fat for the rest of my life quit.
