My Pediatrician says no solids until 6 months... my LO eats 6.5oz and never seems satisfied and my mom insists she needs cereal...anyone start this early? do I listen to my mother or my pediatrician?!
My pedi gave us the okay at 4 months. He was also a little concerned with DS's weight gain due to spitting up he was going a little off his "curve" so he thought that starting solids might up with spitting up. Also, he wasn't (still isn't) STTN.
we tried rice at 4m but he wanted nothing to do with it. I moved on to oatmeal with applesauce at 5m and he loves it!! We will be moving on to regular solids here in a couple weeks. Everyone is gonna tell you something different. You just have to take all the info in and make the best and safest choice you can.

We started cereals at 3 months. She was constanly hungry and always wanted "more". I didn't want to just keep feeding her formula. There cereal worked wonders!! She was so much happier!!

I started with cereal at 4 months. We went through every type (that I could find) and now are starting fruits. Once we go through all the fruits, we'll move on to veggies. My son's pediatrician gave the OK.
At 4 months he was 17 lb 12 oz (nearly doubling his birth weight of 9 lb) and was taking an average of 40 oz of formula per day. He could sit with support and showed an interest in food when DH and I ate.
Re: When did your LO start cereal ?
