He hates sitting but loves standing

He tolerates the bumbo for about 2 minutes.  I sit on the floor with him leaning against me and we play together but he gets tired of that fast.  However, if I pull him up, he instantly locks his legs and will stand for as long as I let him. 

Any way to help him enjoy sitting up more?

I was wondering this too! Henry would stand for hours if I let him! Haha! I was at a mom's group and someone made a comment to me about not "making" him stand up so much since it's not good for him!!!!

Nora does the same thing.  She's slowly tolerating the Bumbo a little more, as long as I entertain her while she's in it.  But thank heavens for the exersaucer!  That lets her 'stand' for a while without hurting my arms.

Sam does the same thing.  Loves to jump but hates to sit.

Haha!  Me too!  I actually hold him under the arms and let him "walk" across the living room.  Some babies skip crawling I think DS is going to skip sitting and go straight to running!

AGREED.

I'm sorry, but I can't really hold a 16lb kid for 30 - 45 mins straight. Especially when I have to make dinner in advance and DH isn't home yet. DS isn't too fond of his Bumbo seat yet, but he's tolerating it more and more each day.

The exersaucer is a good idea, but he's still too little for it.
