I don't want to discourage you but I was 60% effaced and 2 cm dilated two Mondays ago and then this Monday 80% effaced and 3 cm dilated.

I hate to say it, but I was there with DD#2 for over two weeks.  And I've had contractions 15 minutes apart for over a month (at 2cm, not sure about effaced).  I was treated for PTL this time around but I was having contractions 3-5 minutes apart at 32 weeks.  It could be tonight or it could be weeks and weeks.

I'm sorry. Unfortunatlly I am in this boat. I am 2CM, but want to keep LO in for a Little while longer. With my DD I was walking around 3CM and 90effaced from 35 to 37 weeks. They usually don't keep you until you start to progress with your contractions. If you went from 2-3 while you were in the hospital they may have kept you. Why don't you have some sex? That could stir up the pot!

Because you need to be having contractions five minutes apart before they admit you.  I have been at this stage for a month.

Mine slowed down from 3 min apart to 6-7 minutes apart and I was 3 cm 60% effaced and I got sent home! So same boat as you. Now it's just a waiting game.
