Need advice on brushing DDs teeth!

I have both a finger brush and an actual tooth brush for DD. The actual brush becomes a disaster! She is all over with it and won't let me help her. The finger brush used to work great, but now she is into biting. Lets just say that I dread brushing her teeth, anyone have any tips? Im desperate!!  TIA

Re: Need advice on brushing DDs teeth!

  • I use the toothbrush on DS.  It took sometime for hom to get used to it, but after about a week of doing it consistently he seemed ok with it.  Sorry thats not much help.

  • Here is what we do right now for our boys who are 13 months old.

They have a total of 7 teeth.  I give them their toothbrush while I am getting them ready for bed and let them do it.  They play and bite on it and sometimes brush there teeth for a bit.  I let them have it the entire bedtime routine.

They get baths every other day and that is when I brush their teeth.  They love the tub so they aren't so concerned about what I am doing.

It seemed to work fine with my now 3 year DD.

Our rule with her is that she brushes first then I brush them.

  • We brush B's teeth right after bath time while he is still wrapped in his towel. We lay him down and just do it. He didn't like it at first but it needs to be done and after a few days he realized it wasn't so bad.
  • We do DD's in the bath... its not an issue now. But at first I gave her, her own tooth brush to hold. We brush them first and then let her 'brush them'
