Used car seat base safe to buy?

A family friend is selling some of her baby stuff and she has three Graco Snug Ride bases for sale.  Is it safe to buy used bases?  Also do you know if the regular Snug Ride base fits the Snug Ride 32 as well?

If you know her, sure why not! Pssst.  I bought a used car seat base of CL.

Also, the Snugride base will not fit in the Snugride 32, sorry.  The Snugride 32 is a longer car seat.

As long as you trust her to tell you if any of them have been in a crash then its fine. 

A sung ride base wont fit a sung ride 32 base.  Also just in case a sung ride 32 can go in a safe seat base but a safe seat can not go in a sung ride 32 base.  So just check and make sure you know what bases they are if you buy them

Be careful.  We have had a lot of trouble with different model years of the same car seat not working with the same bases.

the only thing that is a big no no when buying a carseat, it to make sure it was never involved in a car accident. once a car seat has been involved in an accident, it loses its guarantee to be 100% safe, so its recommend to get a new one. just so you know!
