Sleep patterns

Until very recently DD has consistently done 2 naps (~1 hr each) during the day, and went to sleep at night around 7:30pm. We really watched when she was tired and followed her schedule. Recently she's been doing only one nap a day and refuses to go to sleep at night.....but she's super tired.  For the three past nights to get her to sleep without crying was to have her fall asleep with me and carry her to her crib after.

I don't know what's going on....teething...and I guess I am not complaining, what could be better then to fall asleep with a warm, fresh smelling baby...BUT I feel I am getting her into a very bad habit of only being able to sleep with me.

 Thoughts?

Re: Sleep patterns

  • If she's only taking one nap now, she might be getting overtired before bed.  You might need to move up her bed time a little (maybe 30 minutes) until she gets on a "better" schedule and used to being on one nap.  How long is her one nap?  At what time?  Maybe try moving her first nap to a little bit later to see if she'll sleep a little longer and then make it easier to get to bed time (an earlier bed time until she gets used to it).

  • She's going to sleep around 10am and waking up at 12 or a bit later, so she's getting her sleep. She cries if we try to put her down during her previous nap time (2 or 3) and have tried putting her to sleep earlier. Today I tried putting her down around 6....
