DH bought Eva a book of puzzles for Christmas. They are 24 piece cardboard type puzzles not the wooden peg type. I thought they would be too difficult for her but she can do them. It amazes me because once she has dumped all the pieces out there isn't any thing to guide her in reconstructing it (the base for the puzzles is blank). Is this something all two year olds can do and I have been holding her back or should I be as impressed as I am? I think she's a genius, of course, but I'm her mother!
Re: Should I be impressed?
be amazed, yes, you do have a brillant child!

Yes, you can be impressed because I was with Cole too! I'll admit it. lol.
He started doing puzzles like that a few months ago and I couldn't believe it. I tried helping him at first, but the second time I just sat back and watched. He knew how to match up the pieces he was looking for and turn the pieces around until it fit. He did the entire thing all by himself. I just sat there with my mouth open. (It was also a reminder to myself to resist the urge to jump in and interfere and try to 'help' him all the time. That I need to let him figure some things out on his own.
)
Santa must have known how much Cole likes these puzzles, because he got several of them for Christmas.
I think that's pretty impressive.
Ben got a set of three puzzles for Christmas and they each have about 10 pieces. He's more interested in dumping them all over the floor than putting them together.
Seriously impressive!
I've never tried to give those to DD ... hmmm ...
