DD has a quiet time for 60-90 minutes in her room and occasionally, but rarely sleeps. She goes to bed at 7:30, sleeps til 7. Wondering if bdtime shouldn't be earlier... If your DC doesn't nap, when's bed and wake-up time?
Thanks!

I say if she is sleeping for 11.5 hrs and doesn't seem tired before her normal bed time don't mess with it.
My question is how do you get your daughter to stay in her room for 60-90 min? Does she lay in there with no lights on or does she play with no lights on, do you put lights on?
My son just gave up naps and I am having the hardest time getting him to have quite /rest time in his room for 60 min. He keeps kicking and or hitting the door and yelling. I need the break and so does he. Plus I am having another bbay in 9 weeks give or take and I know I will need that time to rest or get things done. Any tips please?

Sorry I couldn't be more of a help to you
THe light is off, but if she wants light she'll open the curtains. Before nap she loads up a bin of books and toys and when it's full, that's all she can take. I lay her on the mattress and then I talk with her about each of the things she brought (stashing any noisy ones that may wake her) and lay them out (she sleeps on a full). I kiss her goodnight and leave... she plays and and pretends. I often hear bits of conversations we had throughout the day... ON a rare occasion I hear on the monitor "goodnight mommy and baby and baby, Alex is a taking a nap!" and silence. Good luck!

I was just going to post about having a 2.5 yr old that is giving up naps. I was thinking it was too young but she is sleeping from 8pm-7am with no nap. She wasn't falling asleep until 9:30pm with a nap and was restless throughout the night (waking and asking for things and wanting to watch cartoons) I thought maybe its because we are less active being stuck inside more (the weather is -10 here) and so she wasn't needing a nap as much. I don't know. I'm not ready to give up my "free time" during the day but I guess I'll have "free time" at night instead.
Thanks for responding. I will try this and see what happens. What time do your kids go down for a nap/rest. I mean how far after they wake up? Or is it different every day?
